Meet & Greet (1 hour)
We believe great pet care starts with getting to know each other.
That's why we offer a free Meet & Greet before any service is booked - please note that this is required for all new clients (excluding microchipping).
This no-obligation visit gives us the chance to meet you and your pet in person, learn their routine, and make sure everyone feels comfortable and confident moving forward.
What to expect
During the Meet & Greet, we will:
- Spend time getting to know your pets personality, behaviour and preferences
- Review daily routines, feeding instructions and any special care needs
- Discuss your expectations and answer any questions you may have
- Ensure your pet feels safe and comfortable with us
Your pet's wellbeing is our top priority. The Meet & Greet allows us to build trust, create a personalised care plan, and confirm we're the right fit - before any commitment is made.

At Orton Paws & Play, we provide professional microchipping services for dogs, cats, and rabbits, helping reunite lost pets with their owners quickly and safely. Our service is calm, efficient, and carried out with your pet’s comfort and wellbeing as the top priority.
Why Microchipping Matters
Microchipping is a permanent and reliable form of identification. If your pet is lost or stolen, a microchip gives vets, councils, and rescue organisations the ability to contact you and return your pet home.

Legal Requirements (UK)
Dogs
In the UK, all dogs must be microchipped by law.
- Puppies must be microchipped by 8 weeks of age
- Owners are legally responsible for ensuring the microchip is registered
- It is also a legal requirement to keep contact details up to date
Failure to comply can result in enforcement action and fines.
Cats
In England, microchipping of cats is now a legal requirement.
- Cats must be microchipped before 20 weeks of age
- Owners must ensure details are registered and kept up to date
This law significantly improves the chances of lost cats being returned to their owners.
Rabbits
Microchipping rabbits is not currently a legal requirement, but it is strongly recommended.
Rabbits can escape easily, and a microchip provides permanent identification that can help reunite them with their owners if found.

By law, pet owners must:
- Ensure their pet is microchipped (where legally required)
- Register the microchip with correct contact details
- Keep details up to date if you move or change phone numbers
